West Coast Blues
Hall of Fame &
Awards Show
Held annually the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame and
Awards Show honors blues, jazz and gospel artists for
their contributions to the art form called blues.  The Hall of
Fame is held in March but commemorates Black History
Month.  Events held in conjunction with the WCBHF event
include concerts, lectures on the history of blues and panel
discussions.  
Hayward-Russell City
Blues Festival
Russell City "The Town That Lost the Blues" is an
ongoing annual project. The Hayward-Russell City
Blues Festival seeks to keep the blues alive in the
community that once served as a vital contributor to the
American blues scene & the formation of the West
Coast Blues.  
Home Grown
Blues Series
an Oakland Tradition
The Bay Area Blues Society works in conjunction with
the City of Oakland to annually produce and host this
series presenting  music heritage, past & present. This
important event brings together a wide range of
performers with an emphasis on home grown talent with
an emphasis of public accessibility, making it a real
community event.

Other Events...
The Bay Area Blues Society contributes to  play a role in many
ongoing efforts to perpetuate  blues, jazz and gospel as an art
form indengenous to America.  The Blues Society  works to
create and promote opportunities and venues for the blues
community.  If you are interested in the possibility of future
