Each year the Bay Area Blues Society and the Alameda County Fair work together to bring the public a great line-up of
notable performers who excel in their craft.   This non-stop  festival features outstanding blues and R&B acts found
throughout the country.

CARAVAN OF ALLSTARS                                                   5:45 pm

A  powerhouse revue put together to showcase some of the unsung heroes of West
Coast Blues. The Caravan has a loyal following due to their high profile
performances at, California Music Awards, AT&T San Jose Jazz Festival, Portland
Waterfront Blues Festival, Monterey Bay Blues Festival, command performance for
President Bill Clinton.  The Caravan has opened for and performed with Bobby
Rush, Betty Wright, Etta James, Gladys Knight, The O’Jays, Robert Cray, Al Green,
Bonnie Raitt, The Whispers, BB King, Latimore, Buddy Guy, Booker T and the MG’
s, Willie Nelson, and Chaka Khan just to name a few.  The band consists of Ronnie
Stewart, lead guitar; Dalhart Johnson, bass guitar; Rich Forman, keyboards; Donny
Kountz and David “Stix” Boyette on drums; Carl Green, Geechi Taylor, and James
Nelson, the “Sweet Meat Horn Section”. Featured vocalists include
Wylie Trass,
Terrible Tom Bowden, Tommy Nunnelly and Alvin Jett
5 TEMPTING MEN                                                  7:00 pm

Cleveland Jones, Al Boyd, Frank Willis, Jon Mykal and Fred Iiams are the 5
Tempting Men, music industry’s premier Motown tribute act who pay homage to the
legendary Temptations. The 5 Tempting Men combine high stepping choreography
with free flowing harmony to transport the audience to the sound of motor city.
Unlike other tribute bands, they blend their voices with a live onstage band to re-live
the best that Motown offered.  No, it’s not your imagination it's the 5 Tempting Men.

SARGENT TUCKER                                                                4:45  pm

Sargent Tucker is a multi-talented lead singer, musician, song-writer, and producer.
As lead singer of the Sargent Tucker Band, Tucker’s singing style is described as
soulfully smooth and original, reminiscent of great traditional R&B Soul singers.   
Originally from New Orleans, Tucker began playing guitar at age five. While
attending Jr. High in the San Francisco Bay Area he started playing bass and
singing. Later, as a member of his High School Jazz Band “Two Things in One”
formed. This group achieved two number one singles, “Silly Song” and “Together
Forever” and was recently inducted into the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame.
RON JOSEPH & STEPPEN STONE FEATURING XYMPHONI             2:15  pm

Ron Joseph hails from New Orleans, Louisiana and brings his Southern R&B sound
to the stage.  Steppin’ Stone’s style blends well with the West Coast Blues sound.  
The mix of southern R&B & West Coast Blues Sound creates the funk R&B dance
music that so many blues fans love.  Ron Joseph and the Steppin Stone Band has
been a mainstay in Oakland and the Bay Area club scene.
LOVE LIGHT BLUES BAND                                                 3:00 pm   

The Lovelight Blues Band is a bold six piece of talented musicians whose main focus
is to create strong, unique and exciting music. The Oakland-based band has been
playing and building their repertoire for nearly nine years, and their style of blues
finds inspiration from all the great blues musicians both old and new. Lovelight’s
other musical styles pull from an even wider range of musical genres including
funk, rock, jazz, and soul.

WENDY DE WITT                                                                12:45 pm

Wendy DeWitt performs a mix of boogie and blues that Robben Ford describes as
“straight from the heart”.  Hers is the story of a girl who grew up over a store in
Glen Ellen, California to become a driving piano player and singer, in the tradition
of Chicago Blues and Texas Boogie Woogie  Brought to the blues at the age of 10,
Wendy started out playing at house parties. Her influences range from Otis Spann,
Memphis Slim, and Professor Longhair to Johnnie Johnson and Albert Ammons.
Hank Ballard, with whom Wendy toured, called her his “favorite piano player” due
to her full sound and two-fisted style.
LEO OLIVER & BLUES CREWS                                        12:00 pm

In 2009, Dave Garges met Leo Oliver at the bay area’s 5th annual Bud Fest.  Both
were looking to create a local blues band made of Hayward musicians. Leo and the
Blues Crew was created from Hayward Musicians. We added Doug Van Cott,
Robert Stuart, Rich Avila and Eli Albert. Leo and The Blues Crew have played a
number of Hayward Area Historical Society Events and Castro Valley Festivals.
Leo and the Blues Crew makes you feel like you are back in St. Louis.
